Magnetic Filtration for oil, petrol, diesel, bio-fuel

Eclipse Magnetics magnetic filters can provide all the benefits of magnetic filtration to bulk fuel processors, distributors and suppliers.
Where to use magnetic fuel filters
Incoming bulk lines
Qualifies the fuels entering storage and prevents settlement in the main tank.
Tank conditioning
Re-circulating the fuel through the incoming filter on a bypass loop will constantly remove oxides, water and gum build up, reducing the frequency of tank cleaning. We recommend including a water filter in this loop. This will keep the fuel in good condition and control microbe levels.
Between the tanks and pumps
Cleanses the fuel leaving the tanks and protect the pumps from contamination developing in the tank, scale rust oxides and some gelling.
Point of Sale
Micro filters mounted within the pump enclosure qualify the fuel at the point of sale.
Why use magnetic filtration?
Removes all free particulate in fuel, including scaling, from the tank.Rust oxides in suspension, especially in bio-fuels, do not settle effectively and can become attached to gum that is free in the tank.
Magnetic filters used in tank cleaning have been found to remove a gel-type substance high in ferrous contamination that is not visible to the naked eye. The particle size in in the gum has been 0.2 – 70 microns.
No ongoing costsNo replacement filters are used and permanent magnets requires no power.
Reduces particle sizeLarger particles are instantly removed allowing fuel to pass through filtration and to burn more effectively
Removes sub-micron particlesIt will also remove sub-micron sized particles of ferrous and para-magnetic contamination which
includes non-magnetic metals and minerals such as aluminium, silicon, calcium, magnesium and ferrous oxides.
Removes gumWill remove some gum in some applications ensuring fuel supply is at premium quality.
Limits microbial growth and effectsMagnetic filtration has two effects on microbes: it disrupts cellular processes vital to their health and breaks down microbial biofilm into individual organisms. This inhibits their growth and reproduction, reduces their effect on burning efficiency and means that they can pass through fuel filters, reducing blockages.
The black smoke emitted in diesel exhaust is the result of burning bacteria. Fuel that has been magnetically filtered will eliminate this smoke and affected vehicles will run more smoothly.
Independent study*
A comparison of two lines recirculating standard diesel with added seawater and bacteria over 17 days showed the flow in the line without the magnetic filter had reduced to 25%. The 30 micron filter had a film of bacteria over the entire surface. The line with the magnetic filter had a 65% reduction in flow and the filter surface was visibly clearer. The magnetic filter used in this test was an old design of lower performance than Eclipse Magnetics magnetic filters available today.
Attract and hold large volumes of contaminant.
Eliminate back pressure and the risk of a burst filter associated with media filtration.
3/8" to 46" port sizes to suit installations in gas, oil and high pressure petro-chemical applications.
Magnetic filters can be supplied to meet ATEX *II 2G EEx IIBT3 and PED certified depending upon application and installation requirements.
