We now supply a range of switchable electro and electro-permanent magnets.
These magnets are compact but powerful – with a maximum pull of 167kg – and are supplied ready to install into your application.
They are ideal for any application where magnet force has to be turned on and off automatically, at the touch of a button or remotely: gate or door holding, machine tools, feeder mechanisms; or where application of the magnet has to be more efficient and quicker than applying and removing it manually – workholding, packaging machinery, office machines.
Two main options are available:
Electro-magnets
Power is required to hold the magnet ON. Power is removed to turn the magnet off.
Choose for applications where the magnet is on temporarily, such as workholding.
Electro-permanent magnets
These contain permanent magnet material where power is required to hold the magnet in the OFF position. When the power is removed the magnet returns to on.
Choose for applications where the magnet is usually on and only turns off briefly, such as door holders.
