Micromag makes awards shortlist

The Eclipse Magnetics Micromag magnetic filter was shortlisted at the 2008 MWP Award in the Best Tooling Product, Equipment or System, at the Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on 22nd April.


The MWP Awards, which has been running for over 25 years, recognises outstanding achievement in manufacturing technology.

Micromag, which was launched in 2007, is a high-intensity magnetic filter which significantly improves filtration efficiency over conventional systems. It uses high-power neodymium ‘rare earth’ magnets to remove ferrous and para-magnetic contamination from fluids and is particularly effective with machine tool oils and coolants.

Micromag secured a place on the shortlist at the Awards ceremony because of its unique features, including an innovative flow-geometry path, which ensures the filter cannot block and prevents excessive pressure loss, crucial to efficient operation.
